New Orleans National Dance Day July 28th, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

What: New Orleans Dance Network (NODN) and a coalition of the NOLA dance community will celebrate National Dance Day! This year's event will include a flash mob with So You Think You Can Dance choreography and a second line!

Where:  New Orleans Mint (400 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, LA 70116) / Jackson Square (Washington Artillery Park) for Flash Mob

When:  Saturday, July 28th, 2018

9:00 AM Sign In/Warm Up

9:30 AM The Gumbo Dance Party

10:00 AM Flashmob instruction and Rehearsal

12:00 PM Secondline and Flashmob (We will be second lining from the Mint to Jackson Square (Washington Artillery Park) to perform the Flashmob) and disperse after.

Who: Open to the Public: Performers, Non-Performers, Discotistas, Friends and Family

Uniforms: Disco Amigos T-shirt and black shorts.  The event is more like a gym/Zumba class, so be sure to bring a towel, water bottle, etc.  If you don't have a Disco Amigos T-shirt, any red t-shirt/top will do.

Performances:  "Dancing" by Kylie Minogue teach a modified version of the National Dance Day dance, but this video will give you the basics. No previous experience or rehearsal necessary.

Additional Info:  
After the Flash Mob at Jackson Square, the event is officially over.  So you can either park by the Mint and walk back to your car, or park closer to Jackson Square.  You will be responsible for all of your belongings!
