Southern Decadence Parade 2018 (Sunday Sept. 2, 2018)
What:
Southern Decadence Grand Marshal Parade is a walking parade (no motorized vehicles). e
Where:
The parade starts near Golden Lantern Bar - 1239 Royal Street. Look for the DA Cushman and Disco Music. And stay tuned to FB notices for any specific directions. Parking will be difficult, so plan accordingly.
When:
Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 Set up is at 12:00 p.m. and performance rolls at 2 p.m.
Stage Manager:
The Stage Manager for the Southern Decadence Parade are Kim Janowski 713.447.9217
Who:
Open to all Disco Amigos performers and support members. Only 30 parade dancers and 12 support members will be allowed to sign up, but if we have a much greater number of performers we will start a waiting list and try to accommodate.
Uniforms:
Guys: red button up shirt, black vest, black disco pants, shoes (black, red and/or silver only), and accoutrement (sash, headwear, etc.) Summer version of the uniforms are encouraged due to weather.
Gals: Silver disco dress, shoes (black, red and/or silver only), and accoutrements. Summer version of uniform are encouraged due to weather.
Support guys and gals will wear a Disco Amigo t-shirt and black/silver shorts, pants or skirts.
Performances:
We will perform our MG18 Dances - Do What You Wanna Do, Power of Disco and Stomp. Other line dances will be performed as necessary when parade stops/stalls: You Make Me Feel; Double Dutch Bus; Groove Line; Night Fever; Canned Heat.
